Tuesday 02/11/2020

This post is a continuation of the $50 a month stock challenge I started October 14, 2019.  Click on, "No Commission Stock Trades", on the right side of the page to read from the start.

   $274.36 self-imposed February trading limit.
    -$   8.48 invested 2 WPG @ $4.24 (projected 03/02)
    -$ 61.60 invested 1 VZ @ $61.60  ($0.61 paid 02/03
    -$ 35.10 invested 2 CXW @ $17.55  ($0.44 x 2 paid 1/15)
    -$ 45.75 invested 1 HP @ $45.75 ($0.71 payable 03/02)
    -$ 22.80 invested 2 ETRN @ $11.40 ($0.45 x 2 payable 02/21)
    -$ 70.25 invested 1 TNA @ $70.25
    -$ 30.15 invested 10 WPG @ $3.015 (projected 03/02)
$     .23 balance to invest (about as close to 100% invested as feasible)

7:00am (CST)
Enter "GTC-EXT-Limit" SELL orders
     12 WPG @ $3.40 ( 2+10=12 ) ???
     1 VZ @ $61.70
     2 CXW @ $17.90
     1 HP @ $46.75
     2 ETRN @ $11.90
     1 TNA @ $71.85 (6:00am FILLED @ $71.92)

Why was my TNA filled "above" asking price? Go back and read my post on using "limit" orders and also understand that the EXT part of the order starts pre-market trading @ 6:00am (CST). The "bid" price exceeded my "ask" price and the "limit" part of the order will fill at your limit price OR  more better.

I was watching the "level 2" trade order book on my "Think or Swim by TDAmeritrade platform" before 6:00am and could have moved my "limit" higher before pre-market trading started (perhaps to $72.25 for a repeat  $2 gain per my last TNA transaction), but since I usually do not post before 7:00am, I did not do that because I did not want it to appear I was doing something that I was not documenting. This small portion of my account is for explaining my trading theory and is totally transparent per my posts.

As I am about to post this, I can see that the $72.25 price would have been filled.

??? On my WPG trade means I may choose  ( change the order ) to sell the 10 shares I bought @ $3.015 on 2/7 at a lower price and keep the 2 @ $4.24. Combined the 12 shares average $3.22.
