WPG Consolidation Trade

This post is a continuation of the $50 a month stock challenge I started October 14, 2019.  Click on, "No Commission Stock Trades", on the right side of the page to read from the start.

On November 20th  I purchased 2 shares of WPG @ $4.24 for a total of $8.48 and today  I added to that position  with 10 more shares $3.015 or $30.15.

WPG has not announced their next dividend but it is projected for the last of February or first of March.

I now own 12 share with a total investment of $38.63 or $3.22 a share. I will use 12 WPG @ $3.22 for all future references because these shares will be sold in one trade.

I have mentioned taking profits from one sale to offset some or all the loses from another. In this case I just added shares of the same stock be obtain a new cost per share.

Any price about my new cost average will show a profit and free the money from my under performing original 2 shares. I have collected the dividend on those 2 shares but I record dividends and trades as separate entities.

All the same money in the same account but the bookkeeping is different as profits and dividends need to be separated because they are taxed at a different rate.
