BRY trade 04/14/2020

This post is a continuation of the $50 a month stock challenge I started October 14, 2019.  Click on, "No Commission Stock Trades", on the right side of the page to read from the start.

            $381.94 self-imposed April trading limit.
            2% of $381.94 = $7.64 April profit needed.

     Yesterday (04/13/2020) I bought 8 BRY shares @ $2.39 and today I sold those 8 BRY shares @ $2.64.

     $21.12...……..sold 8 BRY @ $2.64
     $19.12...….bought 8 BRY @ $2.39
     $ 2.00 total profit

     $2.00 / $19.12 = 10.46% ROI

     Because I had different lots (shares bought at different prices), I indicated to my broker (by how I structured my order) that the shares bought @ $2.39 were the shares I was selling.

     BRY is in the oil industry, it will remain low in price until oil prices recover, but that does not mean it can not be played as the price recovers.

     If you recall, last week a sold 1 share for a $0.25 profit. That same $0.25 a share netted $2.00 profit today because I had 8 shares. About the same ROI (Return On Investment) but a larger profit because I had more money invested.

     The same $0.25 profit on BRY returned slightly different ROI because my "investment" ( the "I" in ROI) was different because I did not "pay" the same price both times.

ROI  (Return On Investment) = profit / investment.
