Fall has arrived!

Yesterday I made a nice little 600 mile trip from Little Rock to Fayetteville to Joplin,Mo. to Springfield, Mo. and back to Little Rock.

It was a very enjoyable trip and I was able to look over a couple of the dairies that are owned by our parent company. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful.

I needed to go to Springfield to pick up a truck. I was originally supposed to make the Fayetteville run but this came up. I rode with a new driver to Fayetteville and explained the drop at Pinnicle Foods. He then took us over to the Hiland Dairy at Fayetteville where I caught a ride with a driver from Joplin that was making a delivery. We had to switch trailers in Joplin before heading to Springfield.

After picking up my truck in Springfield, I headed back to Little Rock via US65. Branson, Mo., Harrison, Marshall, Clinton, and finally Comway, Ar. Right thru the heart of the Ozarks.

I have not had long pants on for about 3 months (great to be able to work in shorts and a company polo). It was in the 40's when I came thru Marshall and I had to turn the heater on. Just made me think how much I love to open a window, grab the covers, and sleep like a baby. I can't remember when I have had a pleasant and restful night of sleep.

It was not quite that cool when I arrived home (after a very long day), but with the vents of the motorhome open and a small fan, I still needed to pull on the covers.

I bet your heart was singing as you rode through the Ozark Mountains. I know mine would have been.

And I'm with you on this wonderful sleeping weather. I got to wear my long sleeved/long pants pajamas last night for the first time in months.

I've heard about the Ozark and have seen pictures...it looks so beautiful and how I would love to see them for myself! Never mind Autumn arriving...I think WINTER has arrived here!!! lol This morning we had such heavy frost on the ground, I thought at first it had snowed! The highest it's gone today is 46...was 28 when I got up!

Yup, I'm otta shorts too. Maybe I'll manage another day or two, but, for the most part, I've been wearing sweats around the house lately.

It's nice to drive through the Ozarks, top to bottom, as you did. When I have enought time, I like to take Scenic Hwy 7 between Harrison and Russelville as an alternative to Hwy 65. It takes longer, but the scenery is worth it if time is not a consideration.

Sounds like a lovely drive through the Ozarks. There's so much to see in this vast country.
I love to have the window open to sleep at night, but the cold is upon us up here already. It seemed to come early this year. We're having to close the window and light a fire in our wood furnace already.
How's your auto-pilot doing...any better?
Must've been interesting talking to the guy with the flag. Thanks for sharing those pictures.
