It made me smile

Friday didn't start of very well. The temp was about 100f when I left Little Rock headed to Hooks, Tx. . About 2 hours into my run I blow a tire on my back "pup" trailer down at Hope, Ar. .

Thankfully I had my cell phone or it would have cost me a lot more than the 1 1/2 hours that I lost.
Looney Tire Service does our tires but when we are that far away from Little Rock then Looney calls someone closer to us to handle the job.
GCR Tire Company in Texarkana was called and a nice guy named "Charlie" drove the 30+ miles with a new (recap) trailer tire. Not only did he smash his finger, he smashed it with the part of the carcass that had steel showing. Smashed finger and stuck with the steel cable. It hurts just thinking about it. He was a trooper and finished the job and I was on my way. All things consider, an hour and a half wasn't too bad.

It was dark on my way home and even though I have a "birds eyeview" into passing cars, there is not much to see unless their interior light is on.

A mini-van passed and since it was dark inside the DVD player really was bright.

There playing on the screen was Sylvester and Tweety Bird. If you see something like that then you have to smile. It made my hard day seem a lost less stressful. I don't understand the "crap" they call cartoons today. I guess I am just too "old school".
Looney Tire Service and Looney Tunes Cartoon all in the same day. Weird don't you think?

For those that might be interested, I updated my Sam's Fiero blog. It's a reverse blog so any updates are always on the bottom.

Ouch, poor Charlie, smashing his finger like that!! Glad he was able to get you up and running again, though! I agree with you, the so called cartoons of today are mediocre...I remember the good old days of REAL cartoons like Bugs Bunny, Woody Woodpecker, Yogi Bear, etc....

Poor guy smashing his finger...Ouch I know it hurt!

Last week I had an experience with 3 big pieces of retreads on the interstate highway. There were 3 cars in front of me and the lead car slowed way down causing the next two car to swerve from side to side all trying to avoid hitting the pieces of tire. Luckily for me, I quickly applied my brakes and the left lane was empty so I swerved into it avoiding all the cars. It was a little scary considering that I am just learning to ride a motorcycle, but a good learning experience. It taught me not to follow cars so closely, but to stay way behind where I have plenty of reaction time.

Isn't it nice to have a video player when you are driving. I had a small t.v. when I was driving to Chicago every week (to go to school there) and it saved my temper many times when I was trapped in traffic.

Best wishes, Annie

Glad you were back on the road fairly quickly. Your right about today's cartoons - They're CRAP in comparison to what we grew up with. The really sad thing is how they've butchered the classics like Road Runner and Bugs Bunny. They cut out anything that might be considered violent like Wiley E C
falling off the cliff or getting blown up by some Acme product Yosemite Sam never gets blown up by Bugs anymore. They cut so much out the cartoon doesn't make sense. You can get video games though where you steal cars and shoot at the police - go figure
