Rednecks

If you look up "Redneck" in the dictionary you would find a color picture of the 2 guys in the muddy, beatup, jacked up, and multi-colored pickup truck I saw setting in the right-of-way of I-30 this week. This pair was straight out of the movie "Deliverance".

These redneck white boys were not breaking any laws ( with the possible exception of being illegally parked). What they were doing made me rethink my opinion of the situation.

It 100+ degrees and they are changing the flat tire for an elderly black couple. Not something you see a lot in the south. Looks can be very deceiving.

p.s., is anyone esle having trouble loading pictures?

I'm having trouble doing everything with blogger. For the last couple of days I have no sign in button to push on my blogger sign in page. There's a place for User Name and a place for the Password, but no Sign-in button.

I have been entering my blog through the comments, by just hitting the preview button below, minimizing the comment window and going to the top of the page and clicking on "Get your own blog"...works for me every time.

Nice of those rednecks to change a flat tire for the black couple.

Hi, Squire, and thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. :-)

I have to ask, are you from Central community, near Trumann? If so, we're neighbors. I live in Bay. I've noticed a Trumann URL and address on my sitemeter several times recently. Just wondered if it was you.....

The rednecks changing the tire for the elderly black couple gives me hope that not all rednecks are prejudiced losers. I are a redneck myself, but not a prejudiced one. :-)

Congrats on your son's accomplishments. My daughter starts college at ASU in Jonesboro this coming Monday. She wants to be a clinical psychologist and if she goes all the way her transcript will look something like your son's when she *finally* (in 8 years or so) finishes college.

Have a great weekend, Squire, and come back and see me some time. :-)

If you mean uploading to your blog site, yes, I do periodically. You can use "Hello" also a program for blogger that always works well for me, and then go into the edit part of your blog & move the picture around if you want.

Nice post today.

Thanks for sharing that tidbit of a story! Yes, I agree, looks can be rather deceiving...
But with my slow connection at 28.8 Kbps, I'm not seeing your photos. Yet, that is!

Looks can indeed by deceiving. I've often wondered about "looks" for it seems that sometimes people employ a certain dress or style to make particular impressions.

Looks are the first thing we humans use to make judgements, of course, but for a truly informed idea of someone to develop, a little time and investigation might reveal something else entirely.

It's always good to see people helping people...and especially black and white. We're all the same color inside, right?
I'm not having any trouble loading pictures with Hello. Have you tried it (and Picasa)? They're free downloads from Google. Both very handy.
Did you take a pic of this scene? If you did, hope you post it later (if possible!!).
